Call for Proposals – Story Fellowship 2022 is launched!: We are inviting members of migrant communities in/from Southeast and East Asia, individually or collectively, to pitch your ideas for original works to witness and raise awareness of experiences of migration through our Story Fellowship Program. This year, our fellowship is in collaboration with New Naratif! Successful applicants will receive training, mentoring and USD$1,000 to support your production and their final products will be published by New Naratif and BEBESEA. For more information about the application, kindly check BEBESEA Website (Available in English and Indonesian). Please share and spread the words! The deadline for application is 27th November.
C20 Discussion: We are pleased to share our contribution to C20 Discussion for G20 Labour and Employment Ministerial Meeting presented by BEBESEA Co-Founder, Mariko Hayashi, at the SDG and Humanitarian Working Group, C20 Indonesia: Towards the September 2022 G20 Labour Employment Ministerial Meeting on August 31st 2022. On International Mental Health Day: In commemoration of this year’s World’s Mental Health day, let us hear again stories of migrant workers across the regions shared in our publication “Repression and Resilience: COVID-19 Response Measures and Migrant Workers’ Rights in Major East and Southeast Destinations” that we have summarised into a brief posted on BEBESEA Instagram. VOICESEA Podcast: New episode with RUMI Jepang, “Morotomo: Capturing Experiences of Migrant Workers through Fiction” tells story behind the making of Morotomo – Short Stories Anthology by Indonesian Migrant Workers in Japan that was submitted and published as a part of BEBESEA Story Fellowship Programme.
